Club Basketball Tip Off
Club Basketball returns this weekend for the 2014 season with huge numbers across the grades. Nearly all grades are up adding to the junior numbers which are also massive for the coming season. The CBA has had to stagger the start with some grades to accommodate the bigger numbers and also work with the Canterbury Rams to ensure that we can all get along to their games. We will again have multiple gyms in operation while we wait for new Metro Sport Facility to be built utilising Cowles, Bishopdale YMCA, St Bedes College, Sta Andrews College and possibily other venues along the way.
Starting this weekend we have Saturday Mens U23, (20 Teams) Mens U20 ( 17 Teams), Mens U17( 14 Teams), Boys U15 (Currently 7 but soon to be 8 teams) Women Premier (7 teams).
Sunday grades Div one men (13 teams), Div One Women (5 Teams) and U20 Women (8 teams) along with the remainign Saturday grades Premier Men (8 teams), U15 Girls (4 Teams) will begin the 26th and 27th April after Easter.
Wednesday Night Midweek mens ( 9 teams) and Mid week Women ( 6 teams ) will begin the 30th April.
We wish everyone the best of luck for the season, rememeber we are trying to rebuild our referee stocks so if you can ref and would like to help out please make yourself known to Jen competitions@canterburybasketball.co.nz as she would love to hear from you. Also please make a special effort this year to lay off the referees as we really need to retain these people and abusing them is the quickest way to find yourself reffing the next game.
