2018 WBC Trials

BBNZ have revamped the WBC into Three Tiers of competition to better serve the needs of the female basketball community (click here for more). The Canterbury Region has the depth of basketball talent to enter two teams into the new competition. The CBA and NCBA have decided to take a collaborative approach and enter one team in Tier 1 (The Alloyfold Canterbury Wildcats), and one team in Tier 2 (to be named, and under the governance of NCBA).

The intention is that the best players in the region will play for the Wildcats, and players who are unsuccessful in making the Tier 1 team but still want to play in the WBC are eligible to play in the Tier 2 team. 10 players will be named in the Wildcats team as sponsored individuals, with an additional two players to be part of the wider training squad and also eligible for Tier 2. The remaining players are then eligible for the tier 2 team.

The Canterbury region requires you to be registered, and attend the trials on:

  • Sunday February 11th 2018
  • 415pm

That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand.
