PISTANG PILIPINO SA – Christchurch 2017 Draw

GRAHAM CONDON - For Sunday's games, we're aiming to start at 10:15am (then 11:15 and 12:15) on Court Two to smooth the transition after an aerobics class. Also, we had an error on the draw - UFCSA is meant to play at 10:15am (not NSFC as originally listed) on GC2 in the U13 competition.

REFEREES - if you can help out officiating some games, please get in touch with Rebecca - referees@canterburybasketball.co.nz or 027 826 9368

OTHER NOTES

DUTY – Most rounds, every team will need to supply two capable people to assist with scorebench after playing, to ensure games run smoothly. Responsibilities will include: filling in the scoresheet; game clock; scoreboard; and shot clock. If your team is playing in the second timeslot of the day on a court, you will need to supply three people, either for the game before, or game after you play (these are highlighted green)

Full FIBA Rules are used with the following exceptions:

Timing = Four x 11 Minute quarters Running Clock, with the last two minutes stop clock (on whistles and made baskets)

First and Third Quarter Break = one minute

Halftime = two minutes

Balls = size seven balls will be used for all grades except U13 (which uses size six)

Tied pool games will be decided by Golden Basket, started with Jump Ball in the middle circle (i.e. first point scored will end the game, in an untimed period).

Tied playoff games will have timed overtime periods: two minute (stop clock) overtime periods are played until a winner is found (team & personal fouls remain intact).

Timeouts: One 40 sec TO per team, per half (Clock stays running) but NONE in last three minutes of a game (or overtime periods).

FORFEIT – If a team is not ready to play within 5:00 minutes of their scheduled tipoff time, they will lose by forfeit (a team may begin with two, three, four, or five players on court though)

PLAYER NAMES – Only players listed on the scoresheet ahead of a team’s first game are able to play in the tournament (i.e. if someone is not present for game one, they still need to be listed to be able to play in game two or later)
