McDonald's Thompson and Whelan Round Four Preview
Round Four of the McDonald’s Thompson and Whelan Competitions takes place tonight, with 17 games tipping off throughout Canterbury.
Five double headers are on tap tonight, with four having their #McDsWT game tip off at 5:15pm, and #McDsTT at 7:00pm: Cashmere hosts Burnside in a double header, with the boys game also having the Dowson Cup on the line; Hillmorton has the Avonside Lady Eagles and Hornby Boys to play; Lincoln will receive visitors from St. Margaret’s and the Kaiapoi Boys; while Rangiora (at Ohoka) has a double header against St. Andrew’s College. AT 6:00pm and 7:40pm, Middleton Grange has the Ashburton College girls, then St. Bede’s boys visiting.
In single game action beginning at 5:15pm, Villa Maria hosts the Ellesmere girls, and Rangi Ruru battles against the surprising newcomers from Kaiapoi. At 6:00pm Cathedral College hosts Riccarton, Linwood hosts Papanui, and the Shirley Boys High Spartans host Ashburton. 6:30pm is the scheduled tipoff time for the Rivalry Week game between Christ’s College and Christchurch Boys’ (at CBHS), and St. Thomas hosts Ellesmere at 7:00pm
