Club Entry Packs Information

We have just sent out all of the Club Entry Packs (2 March 2016)

Please click here to find the following files:

  • Entry Fees PDF – for those of you who were at the Club Forum last week you will know that the Paul Duggan (CBA General Manager) has sourced funding to cover 100% of the 2016 Glory League Costs! I will have some more information on how we will be handling registrations in conjunction with Glory League soon. We’re excited that all of our games which take place at Cowles Stadium and Middleton Grange will receive automated video of the game, which can be shared and downloaded. A brief explanation video can be seen here
  • Court Hire Estimate – this is still an estimate at this stage, but the costs in this document are the maximum amount that will be charged to each team (these will reduce in the case of a competition having an uneven number of team entries).
  • CBA Weeks Of Play – we have a had a few more alterations since the December document went out. BBNZ met with us last week and there is now no tournament over ANZAC weekend, allowing us to start the Sunday grades a week later than originally advised. Men’s Premier will now be played on this weekend (but depending on entry numbers we may have some (likely two) teams play on April 9 instead. The opposite applies to the MU23 grade – if they cannot all play on 9 April, we may play some games on April 23.
  • Mouthguard order form – If you wish to order mouthguards through us, please complete the form and allow the 7 business day turnaround.
  • Unfinancial Player Form – A discussion was initiated by the clubs at the forum, asking if we could do away with player transfer requirements. Any opposition to this needs to be sent to me 9am Friday 25 March, otherwise we will assume every player is free to transfer, UNLESS listed in the unfinancial players list.
  • CBA code of conduct – same as 2015
  • The CBA Match Rules can be downloaded from our website here

Midweek basketball is slated to start on April 27, and we will have finalized dates out next week (Cowles is most likely having an upgrade to its hoops and backboard supports in July, which will affect the weeks we play once this is confirmed).

We have had some questions about clubs/schools entering certain grades:

  • U20 and above needs to be entered as a club (High School competitions – e.g. the Thompson Trophy – are specifically for school entries so this does not apply).
  • U17 and below can be entered by a school
  • Midweek teams can still be entered as one-off teams if they wish (though a club connection is desired)

Our rationale behind this rule is to help promote pathways for players leaving school to continue playing, while also helping clubs become more sustainable long term.
