Thursday and Friday SDL Results

Thursday: The U14 girls SDL week one produced two good games with the Navy vs Blue game the closest. Navy started the better of the two teams but Blue responded to take the lead by quarter time. The game was tied in the final quarter briefly until Blue scored two unanswered baskets to go on to win 62 – 57. Leading scorers were, Navy: Alana 18 points, Tsubasa Nisbet with 13 and Juliet Robertson with 8. For Blue Zoe Gilpin lead the way with 20, Gemma Hickson score 15 and Rose Clarkson 14. In the other game White beat Red 77 – 53 on the back of some strong rebounding and fastbreaking. Esra McGoldrick lead the way with 24 points backed up by Rosie O’Shea with 21. For the Red team Tayler Burnby had 18, Navajo Prentice 12 and Rachel Pullen 8.

Friday: The U16 Boys SDL produced a couple of high scoring games with Navy defeating White 77 – 67 and Red beating Blue 90 – 82. For Navy Blake Alps had 18 points and Sam Lees 17 while Amosa Faitaua - Nanai added 12. For White Kyle Louis scored a game high 27 and Oliver Lidstone added 18 with Carl Issit grabbing 11. In the other game Red, lead by Shou Nisbet’s29 points, beat the Blue unit. Nisbet was backed up by four other double digit scorers with 22points from Patrick Rodger, 13 from Jake Simpson, 11 Andre Tamagushiku and 10 from Taine Tikao. The Blue team still managed 82 with Oliver Fairbrother scoring 20, Jayden Chan 18 and Jayzin Cleghorn 14.
