Welcome New BBHB staff member - Nick Fee

Basketball Hawkes Bay is extremely pleased to introduce our newest staff member – Nick Fee who joins the Basketball Hawkes Bay staff as our Community Development Officer. This role will see Nick out in the community coaching children at grass roots level as well as assisting to develop more community coaches. Nick commences his time with Basketball Hawkes Bay this week as the Head Coach at our Quarterly school holiday Basketball Camp. Nick comes to Hawkes Bay from Hamilton.

Nick has a long history of involvement with the game of basketball. He has been playing the sport for the past 18 years with his most recent work involving coaching and player development. He comes to the Bay having resigned from his position at St Paul’s Collegiate in Hamilton where he was responsible for organising and structuring a successful basketball programme for the boys. Alongside this he enjoyed working with individual players in preparation for their American College basketball season.

Career Highlights for Nick include:

  • 2017 Waikato U17 Rep Coach (5th at Nationals; 1st at Zone 2 Regionals)
  • 2017 NZ Breakers Development vs Wisconsin; NZ Hoopnation Select team vs Malaysia
  • 2016 New Zealand 3x3 Basketball Team
  • 2016 U23 Nationals Tournament Team
  • 2012-2015 – Manawatu Jets Player

Basketball Hawkes Bay is excited to have Nick on board – his experience in the game and his energy and enthusiasm for developing youth basketballers will be a huge driving force for the association as we continue to grow and develop the game in the Bay.  He is a talented player and has much knowledge to pass on to our up and coming.

Delighted to be in the Bay and working his ‘dream job’, Nick told us: “I’m stoked to be here! Hawke’s Bay has the talent to be one of the best Basketball communities in New Zealand, and I’m excited to be a part of that movement.”

Please welcome Nick to Hawke’s Bay as you see him around the courts!
