AFL Queensland Brisbane Juniors Grand Final weekend will be held at Leyshon Park Yeronga this weekend – Friday 8th, Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th September.
We have also been advised that there will be an event at Olympic soccer club (Goodwin Park, opposite side of Cansdale Street) on Saturday afternoon.
We wish to advise that there is limited car parking at the venue however we have created a map of the surrounding area (see download below) to advise all of the alternative parking arrangements.
- The car park to the right at the main entrance to Leyshon Park will be open for public car parking
- The car park to the left at the main entrance to Leyshon Park will be closed for public car parking
- On Saturday the car parking area out the front of Goodwin Park will be closed for the soccer event on Saturday afternoon - please ensure this area is kept free for the soccer patrons
- On Friday & Sunday the car parking area out the front of Goodwin Park will be open for car parking
- A public car parking area near Somerville House on the northern side of Brisbane Corso will be open – the gate is located behind the goal posts at the northern end of the no.1 oval
- There is an area for public car parking on the western side of the corner of Cansdale Street & Brisbane Corso
- There is an area for public car parking at El Salvador soccer club just south of Leyshon Park on Cansdale Street
- There is an area for public car parking at South Brisbane District Cricket Club on Venner Road
- There is also street parking available along Cansdale Street & Brisbane Corso as well as the surrounding housing area to the east of Leyshon Park (William Parade, Turner Avenue, Brougham Street & Ashby Street). Please note there are areas of the streets listed where parking is prohibited and patrons electing park their car on those areas do so at their own risk
We strong recommend the following:
- all players, parents, officials and supporters should allow more time than they normally would when travelling to the event
- where possible avoid Cansdale Street on Saturday afternoon
We would like to advise that the event is ALCOHOL & SMOKE FREE. There is to be no alcohol at the grounds. Security will be patrolling the grounds and patrons caught with or consuming alcohol may be asked to leave.
Anti-social behaviour will also not be tolerated. If you are going to attend please bring your best cheering voice to ensure we have a great atmosphere for the participants.
