Brock Wells played his 100th game for Beenleigh last weekend after graduating through the grades from the Under 8's and NAB AFL Auskick Program. Brock first started at the Buffaloes as spectator, following his big brother around to games from the age of two, always with a football in hand. Constantly asking his parents each week when he can play, he finally got to join the Under 8âs in 2004 at the age of just five. The very same year he also registered for the clubs NAB AFL Auskick program.
Such was Brocks love for the game, his coaches commented "He's taken to AFL like a duck to water" when Brock first started to play. One of Brocks trademarks is that he always gives 100% whilst encouraging his team mates along the way. He may be one of the smallest on the field but he possesses one of the biggest hearts and he is always willingly put up his hand to help out other teams when the opportunity arises. In the past years, there has been many a weekend playing two or three games, either for other teams in the same age group or above his age group. This year Brock has been helping out the U12âs team regularly.
He is well liked by the members of the BUFFALOES football club. When he is not playing a game, Brock likes to be at the club watching as many of the other games the Buffaloes play as possible. Whether it be the clubs future in the U8âs to the Seniors, Brock loves supporting other club members. Brock is the youngest âBuffâ to make it to his 100th game and he recently gained selection in the Beenleigh/Logan District School Boys Under 12 AFL side.
Congratulations Brock, well done on reaching this milestone and we hope we hope to see you playing for the âBuffsâ for many years to come.
