Wests Juniors AFC is a family focused junior AFL club committed to providing a positive and supportive sporting experience for its members. In recent years, Wests has developed a reputation for running one of the best junior, youth and youth girls programs in Brisbane, striking the balance between participation and player development.
In 2016, Wests ran two Under 13 Youth Girls teams. Based on the success of this program, we are expecting to run 2x Under 13 teams in 2017, as well as an Under 15 and an Under 17 team.
We are now seeking applications from interested parties for these teams as well as our Under 11 Girls Team
Junior Girls Coach (U11):
Working with the Girls Football Co-ordinator your responsibilities will include:
- Providing a fun based learning environment where our club’s junior girls are able to learn the basic skills of the game
- Engagement with all juniors girls providing them with encoura
- Actively participate in the ongoing development of Wests’ girls football program
- Ensuring the club values are actively promoted across the age group
- Actively work with other coaches to ensure both development and participation opportunities are maximised for female players within the club
Prior coaching experience is not required in this role. The key to success in this role is your ability to engage with the girls in a positive manner.
Youth Girls Coaches (U13, U15, U17):
Working with the Girls Football Co-ordinator, your responsibilities will include:
- Game day coach of the team
- Actively participate in the ongoing development of Wests’ girls football program
- Ensuring the club values are actively promoted across the age group
- Actively work with other girls coaches to ensure both development and participation opportunities are maximised for all female players within the club
- Develop programs to assist new players with their introduction to the game
Prior coaching experience is preferred but not essential. It is important that you are able to demonstrate an ability to engage with teenage girls and to provide a positive environment for them to develop their football skills.
