08 U14 NATIONAL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS - UPDATED

 

 

Basketball Australia has recently announced the number of bids each state will receive for the 2008 Under 14 National Club Championships. In what will be a new format, the number of teams to compete at the Boys and Girls event will increase to 24 teams respectively. This is an increase of 4 teams, up from 20 teams in 2007.

Victoria will receive 4 automatic bids plus an extra bid based on the 2007 results (5 bids in total.)Victoria will also receive an extra bid in the boys Championship due to an interstate bid not being taken up.

Invitations to teams will be extended following Round #9 of the Victorian Championship League and they will be allocated as follows:

1. 1st placed team in the Ashe Conference

2. 1st placed team in the Watson Conference

3. 2nd placed team in the Ashe Conference

4. 2nd placed team in the Watson Conference

5. Winner of Challenge Match played against 3rd placed team in Ashe Conference and Watson Conference -(Men Only and only if required)

5/6. Highest ranked country team
