ANOTHER CLEAN SWEEP FOR VIC METRO
2007 U18 Australian National Basketball Championships
U18 Vic Metro Girls 72 defeated NSW Metro 49
U18 Vic Metro Boys 66 defeated WA Metro 49
The Victorian Metro Boys and Girls have taken out the national title at the Under 18 Australian National Basketball Championships, held in Launceston TAS. Making it 5 out of a possible 6 National titles for Vic Metro.
Vic Metro are the National Champs in 2007 for U16's Boys, U16's Girls, U18's Boys, U18's Girls and U20 Women, only missing the U20 Men's title.
The U18 tournament was contested by metro and country teams throughout Australia and New Zealand from July 7 - 14.
The gold medal game for the U18 Women looked set to be a thriller with the teams separated by the narrowest of margins at the first break, Victoria up 16-14. But Vic Metro eventually ran out convincing winners 72-49.

VIC M: Elizabeth Cambage - 16 points. Hope Terdich & Alice Kunek - 13 points.
NSW M: Kristen Barnes - 15 points. Kate Oliver - 10 points.
The men's game looked set to be just as entertaining as the women's when the teams went into the break with Vic Metro leading 16-13. However WA couldn't sustain their intensity Vic Metro winning 66 to 49.

VIC M: Ryan Broekhoff - 15 points, James Orr - 13 points.
WA M: Cody Ellis - 16 points.
