Membership registration is for players, coaches and team officials to register with a Club of the BDJFA. Umpires may also register with the BDJFA, referring to 'Umpiring' below for more information.
All membership registration must be completed online using an online membership registration form.
No player or coach may participate in AFL without first being correctly registered in the SportsTG membership database for the current season. Penalties may apply for players and coaches that are not registered correctly (including Year 3s).
Email address required before registering
You must have a valid and active email address to register.
If you do not have an email account, several free email service providers are available with webmail so you can access your email from any point with internet access (including most public libraries). Free email service providers include gmail.com, outlook.com, and mail.yahoo.com.
Umpiring
The BDJFA encourages players, parents, family and friends to participate in this important element of the game. Umpires must be aged 13 or more, or turning 13 during the current season.

Year groups
Year Groups are determined by school year. For example, a player that attends Year 6 at school is eligble to play in the Year 6 grade of competition.
Year Groups are...
- Auskick PP to Y2
- Year 3s (as a transition year to the junior grades of competition)
- Junior grades (modified rules)
- Youth grades (open rules)
- Year 7
- Year 8
- Year 9/10s combined
- Year 11/12*
NOTE *: In Season 2019 The Year 11 compettion has been expanded to include Year 12's. Year 11/12's participate in the South West Junior Football League (which might include clubs such as Bunbury, Harvey, Collie, Augusta Margaret River, etc.). The Busselton Magpies manage the Year 11/12s and all players are welcome. The Magpies are willing to enter two or three teams into the competition so any interested players should contact the Club.
Player registration and current AFL player status...
How a player registers will depend on the player's current playing status...
- New to AFL, or moving from Auskick to Junior AFL
- Played AFL before and would like to play with the same Club again this season
- Played AFL before (including out the Busselton district) but wish to transfer to a new Club
1. New to AFL, or moving from Auskick to Junior AFL
If you are new to AFL then you must make contact with the Association Registrar at registrar@bdjfa.org.au
You can email the Registrar and advise your childs name, date of birth, Year at school and club preferences. You will be placed on a waiting list. Once the cut-off date for re-registration of existing players has passed then the Association will be in contact to discuss team options. Please note that there are no affiliations between Clubs and Schools. Whilst we try to place all players with their preferences sometimes this is not possible.
Clubs have been instructed to ensure that they do not oversubscribe players to teams. Junior football is about maximising player opportunity on the field; and having some teams with too many players, while other teams are struggling for players, does not maximise that opportunity.
Year 3s
If you played Year 2 Auskick last year, then you can register with that Club for Year 3 football. If you are new to the Association then please send your details to registrar@bdjfa.org.au The same procedures to New Players above will apply.
2. Played AFL before and would like to play with the same Club again this season
Please complete an online registration for the current season, referring below for the appropriate link for your Club.
3. Played AFL before (including out of the district) but wish to transfer to a new Club
Players that are already registered and wish to join a new Club must contact registrar@bdjfa.org.au before registering.
You will be placed on a waiting list. Once the cut-off date for re-registration of existing players has passed then the Association will be in contact to discuss team options. Please note that there are no affiliations between Clubs and Schools. Whilst we try to place all players with their preferences sometimes this is not possible.
Once you have been placed with a Club they will initiate a clearance to transfer. When the clearance is complete, an online membership registration form must then be completed.
A player's clearance to transfer may be rejected by a Club where that player is unfinancial or is under a suspension. The Association may reject a clearance to transfer for other reasons.
