OTHER INFORMATION: Siniva has been working with the Sports Development Unit since 2000 after the Sydney Olympic Games. During her time at CISNOC, Siniva has assisted the Unit with various Programmes including Junior Development, Women in Sports, Outer Island Development, National Federations, Allsports Funding, Zone Games and Olympic Solidarity.
She has now been newly appointed as the Acting Secretary General of Cook Islands Sports & National Olympc Committee (CISNOC).
SPORTS PROFILE: Siniva is also well known through the code of Athletics, where she has represented the Cook Islands at various games, Oceania Athletics Championships, New Zealand Nationals and Australian Nationals, South Pacific Games, Commonwealth Games, World Track & Field Championships and many more. From attending these games, she has gained many medals and titles throughout the Pacific.
Siniva is currently ranked 3rd in the South Pacific in the discipline of Hammer Throw. She is the current Cook Islands Record Holder for the Hammer Throw with a distance of 48.47m. Her last highest achievement was from the South Pacific Games held in Samoa where she placed 3rd in the Womens Hammer Throw.
She has been heavily involved with Athletics for 15 years and is concurrently still involved with Coaching. She is the current National Throwers Coach for the Cook Islands and the highest qualified coach in Sprints and Hurdles and Throws for the Cook Islands.
She is currently coaching top discus, shotput and hammer thrower, Tereapii Tapoki who attended 2 Olympic Games in the discipline of Discus. Has taken on to also coach young junior athlete, Tamira Metuangaro from Atiu, residing now in Rarotonga who recently returned from Perth, Australia.
