National sailors Junior Charlie, Taua Elisa, Teau McKenzie, Helema Williams and Aquila Tatira have a jam-packed schedule to look forward to in 2010 including training programmes and regattas in both Australia and New Zealand.
Taua has departed for Australia and is competing in Laser Level 1 Class in Adelaide on the 14 and 19 December 2009. January 6th he will put his coaching hat on and coach fellow junior sailors Aquila and Teau who will join him in Adelaide for the Australia Youth Laser championships.
In New Zealand the sailors with compete in six races:
New Zealand Nationals, Timaru (January 22-26)
Auckland Anniversary regatta (February 1)
Sail Auckland (February 4-7)
Manly regatta (February 13 and 14)
Wakatere regatta (February 28)
Auckland laser championships (March 6-7)
All this training is part of the team’s bid to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics and after winning sevens medals at the September Pacific Mini Games – the team is certainly on a winning course.
