National Federations, Island Associations, Health Ministry & health professionals working within this sector, teachers, coaches, athletes, technical officials etc are invited to attend. This attendance will be both in person and via online internet & teleconferencing enabling Rarotonga and the Outer Islands to participate simultaneously.
Course Program:
v Managing Obesity, nutrition & Exercise
v Drugs in sport- drug doping , recreation drugs include education for youth, and school age
v Upskilling and empowering sport medical practioners, coaches, administrators, athletes Youth, and community groups.
v Prevention & Managing of sports injuries, including management of potential life-threatening incidents in and around the stadium/sport venue, and on the pitch.
v Health promotion with a focus on strengthening the mental, & physical health of the athlete, youth, PWD, & elderly.
v National Federations will share their Sports Medicine material e.g DVD/ppt in a training session-CIFA
v Final session will review this program and prepare recommendations for adoption. These to be circulated as outcomes to the community with these specifically sent to MOH, MOE, MFEM STATS, INTAFF, so that these recommendations can be in-corporated into their information and business plans.
