The Fencing Victoria AGM for the year - 2017, will be held on the Tuesday 22nd May 2018 at the State Fencing Centre, 204 Arden Street, Nth Melbourne at 7.00pm.
Below are Nomination Forms for Executive Positions with Fencing Victoria, and Proxy Voting Forms.
1 Nominations for the Fencing Victoria Executive.
Nominations are now open for positions on the Fencing Victoria Executive. These positions will be voted on at the Fencing Victoria Annual General Meeting to be held on Tuesday 22nd May, 7.00pm at the State Fencing Centre.
Nominations of candidates for election as Officers or Executive of Fencing Victoria Incorporated must be made in writing, signed by two voting members of Fencing Victoria Incorporated and by the nominee in evidence that they are willing and able to accept the duties and responsibilities of the office. All nominees must satisfy 51, 53.2 and 53.3 of the ‘Rules of Fencing Victoria Incorporated’
All members wishing to nominate for the position of Director MUST be current Members of Fencing Victoria. For the 2017 AGM, this includes Affiliated Senior, Junior, Coach AND Club/School Members of Fencing Victoria, above the age of 18 years * (See Below)
Nominations must be delivered to the Director of Communication (communications@fencingvictoria.org), not less than 7 days before the date fixed for the holding of the Annual General Meeting - this being no later than 7.00pm on the 15th May 2018.
In addition, nominees are requested to provide a maximum 300 word statement summarising the skills and experience they can bring to the position.

2 Proxy Voting Forms
If you cannot attend the Fencing Victoria Annual General Meeting, you can appoint a proxy, IN WRITING, using the attached Proxy Voting Form.
These forms must be received by the Communication Director (communications@fencingvictoria.org) or be received at the Fencing Victoria Office, Level 1, 204-206 Arden Street, Nth Melbourne, 3051, no later than 7.00pm on the 21st May 2018.

3 Voting
Elections are covered by the Fencing Victoria Rules of Incorporation.
Under Rule 10.1 of the Rules, the following categories have previously been decided:
Individual Members (entitled to vote, as per Rule 15.2) are
Full Junior Affiliated Members
Full Senior Affiliated Members
Coach Affiliated Members
and for the 2017 AGM
Club/School Affiliated Members * (See Below)
Note that a nomination for election for candidate must be made by two Individual members. Candidates themselves may be Affiliated Senior, Junior, Coach OR Club/School Members of Fencing Victoria.
Individual Members are entitled to vote if they have paid their affiliation for the current Fencing Year (2018). Proxy votes must comply with The Fencing Victoria Rules of Incorporation – Section 35
All members wishing to vote either in person or by Proxy (including members holding Proxies on behalf of other members) MUST be 2018 Individual Members with Fencing Victoria.
All minors must have their Proxy votes signed by a parent/guardian. As a minor has no legal capacity, Junior members under the age of 18 may not exercise their voting rights, except through their legal guardian. Similarly, a proxy may only be provided by the legal guardian of a minor (i.e. the minor has no legal capacity to appoint a proxy). If a minor has completed a proxy form, this will only have effect if it has been also signed by their legal guardian.
* At the 2016 AGM minutes, the following resolution passed:
8. Membership eligibility criteria "That the Association agrees under rule 10.2(b) to vary the eligibility of Individual Membership as defined in rule 10.4(b) to include all Affiliated Senior, Junior, Coach AND Club/School Members of Fencing Victoria, above the age of 18 years" Further, it was proposed that the membership eligibility criteria for all membership categories of Fencing Victoria be reviewed as the ordinary business of future Annual General Meetings
