Position - Membership and Squad Manager
Duties of Manager -
- Look after the Memberships of Clubs, Fencers and Coaches
- Liaise with the AFF for Membership and Coaching Affiliation issues
- Upload reports of Members to the AFF on a needs based system – Around major National Competitions this can be daily or even several times a day on the entry cut off day – usually weekly.
- Attend at least one Squad Epee Squad per month to check numbers, talk to fencers and ensure that all fees are up to date.
- Print and Distribute Membership Cards – Jan to April this will need to be done fortnightly, then once per month. Ensure cards get to clubs. This can only be done at the State Fencing Centre
- Take enquiries about memberships and website issues by phone and email.
- Remove ex-members from the active data base who no- longer wish to receive updates. Also make sure members who do not want the ‘Fencing News’ are removed from the mailing list.
- Update Star Club Forms annually and ensure they are sent out and placed on the website prior to Annual Renewal. Work with clubs to ensure they get their forms back and pay their affiliation. Help clubs with their dedicated portals, membership issues and teach new clubs to set up a portal and use the Sporting Pulse System.
- Look into membership issues on the data base and resolve database issues.
- Place items onto the website and list products on Registrations Forms as required
- Place a list of current Coaches and their Level on the website – ensure that they are correctly affiliated at both State and National Level. Work with the State Coaching Manager to understand issues with coach qualification and accrediation. Keep a WWCC list for Coaches
- Present quarterly reports to the FV Executive and prepare a Membership/Coaching Report for the Annual AGM.
- Help with State Funding Applications and Travel Grants.
Skill Requirements
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good computing skills including an Intermediate level, or above, in Excel.
- An ability to find solutions to problems and improve systems.
- Flexibility in time allocation, as some problems need to be fixed in a short time frame or Athletes and Clubs will be affected.
- A knowledge of Sports Governance, Fencing and the Sporting Pulse data base would be considered an advantage
Example of Time Involved –
December to April – 40 to 60 hours per month
May to September – 20 to 30 hours per month
October to November – 20 hours per month
Remuneration - $9000 per year.
