The competition will be mixed. Separate girls Direct Eliminations and medals will take place according to the same criteria as Fencing Victoria, as well as separate pooles in the case of an exceptional turnout.
Fioretto would be grateful of refereeing assistance from other clubs, preferably with State accreditation, but will otherwise organise senior FFC members to take care of refereeing.
Note: This is not an official FV event.
Entry criteria as follows
- Novice is defined for this competition as less than 4 complete school terms of fencing. For a fencer that is in regular training at a club, this means less than 1 year training. For schools where fencing occurs over 2 terms per year, this means less than 2 years fencing.
- Equipment to meet FV Category 2 competition standards. For this event Fioretto will accept school tracksuit pants. We will have jackets, and some plastrons, lames etc available to borrow to help get this competition going.
- It would help if clubs can let Fioretto know in advance of their numbers. Contact Brook Dunstan at brookmd@optusnet.com.au
- Cost will be kept to $10.00 entry
- Medals will be presented for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, and girls medals will be presented according to FV competition policy (simply because that is a criteria that everyone is familiar with)
- The club will open at 12pm, roll call at 1pm.
