Fencing Victoria wishes to invite young fencers from around Australia and New Zealand to take part in our annual Victoria Challenge, renamed this year and in the future as the ‘Joseph D’Onofrio Challenge’. This foil, epee and sabre event has been especially established as a friendly interstate competition for the U13, U11 and U9 age groups to complement the ACT Tri-States competition and the NSW Koala Challenge.

Entry Fee: $25.00 for the day, including up to 2 competition entries, the fencing clinic and a free sausage.

Fun Fencing Clinic and Activities
For kids who have finished or are waiting for their competition Fencing Victoria will be running a fencing clinic down stairs. This will involve games and activities designed to help develop young fencers as well as footwork drills.
Clinic runs from 11.30am to 2pm
Weapon sizes:
U9 and U11 fencers:
Size 0-3 foils and epees
U13 fencers:
Size 0-5 foils and epees
Equipment:
U11 and U9 fencers:
350N fencing jacket, 350N under plastron, glove, mask, breeches (long/full length track suite pants will be accepted) and long socks.
Chest protectors must be worn by girls in all weapons.
Chest protectors must be worn by boys doing epee.
U13 fencers:
350N fencing jacket, 350N under plastron, glove, mask, fencing breeches (800 or 350N) and long socks.
Chest protectors must be worn by girls in all weapons.
Chest protectors must be worn by boys doing epee.
* Please note these are the minimum requirements, fencers may choose to wear 800N garments if they wish.
** Electric bib masks will not be mandatory in any age group, although fencers may choose to use them.
Food and Drink
All participants are welcome to bring their own food and drink, however Fencing Victoria does run a canteen for your convenience and our fencing community will also put on a sausage sizzle.
