Fencing Victoria invites expressions of interest for the position of Assistant Team Coach for the U15/U17(Cadets) National Championships between 6th - 10th July, Sydney.
This position is ideal from the young coach wishing to gain the experience of being part of a touring team
The duties of the Fencing Victoria Assistant Team Coach include:
- Provide assistance to the Team Coach and Team Manager when requested.
- Help the Team Coach monitor individual athlete and team activity, and address issues as they arise.
- Assist the Team Coach to ensure that all athletes have an appropriate preparation prior to the competition beginning, through consultation with athletes and their personal coach or assignment of lessons to the appointed Team Manager.
- Report misconduct of coaches and athletes to the Team Manager.
- Attend any meetings called by the AFF or competition organising committee.
- Provide advice, in conjunction with the Team Coach, if requested, regarding composition of State teams according to Fencing Victoria rules.
- Present yourself and the team in a professional and positive image at all times and maintain Fencing Victoria’s Code of Conduct for Coaches.
- Be present at the venue during all events, and at least 45 minutes prior to the start of events on each day.
- Undertake any other tasks as subsequently agreed between the Fencing Victoria Executive the Team Coach and the Team Manager.

Excellent communication skills
Affiliated as a coach with Fencing Victoria
Level 1 Coaching Qualification
Reliability
Ability to liaise with coaches, fencers and parents
Working with Children Check
Holding no other official position which in the opinion of the FV Executive would create a conflict of interest or perception of such conflict
This position is an unpaid position, however Fencing Victoria will cover Travel and Accommodation. The aim of the position is to aid newly qualified coaches to gain valuable experience and to help coaches who need this kind of experience to move from level 1 to level 2.
