As Fencing is an Olympic Sport, there has been huge interest in Term 3 and 4 for children to try fencing as an after school activity. Active After School Communities has 54 schools interested in trying Fencing. People are needed to deliver the courses using foam sabres. You will need to be available to deliver a fencing program to primary school children, during the week sometime between 3.30 - 5.30 for a 7 weeks period.
Training
Training is provided by the Australian Sports Commission, who run Community Coach Training Courses. Once the course is completed you will need to participate in a 2 hour fencing specific course (likely to be held at Monash University).
Please find attached a calendar with all the upcoming CCTP courses offered for Term 3, with all course details provided. Other information about CCTP is also provided - see pdf files below.
All equipment will be provided. Training is free. Lesson plans are provided.
Once you are qualified, you will be paid a fee of between $25 - $40 (based on experienced) for each 1 hour class you run.
