Fencing Victoria invites expressions of interest for the position of Clinic Coach for the Development Clinics for 2012.
Fencing Victoria will establish a panel of potential Clinic Coaches from suitably qualified applicants.
Coaches for the above positions will be drawn from the panel by the Fencing Victoria Executive.
It is envisaged that Coaching Positions for age events and clinics will then be offered on a rotating basis to members of the panel subject to their availability and performance.
The panel will be reviewed annually.
Coaches must hold a current NCAS accreditation, be affiliated with Fencing Victoria, have a WWC card and a full and current drivers licence.
The number of coaches appointed will depend on the number of participants. The appointed coaches will be required to attend a planning meeting, organise particular sessions and supervise the athletes when not fencing.
Your application (1-2 pages) needs to include the information below. In your application you will need to demonstrate through previous experience your ability to provide the following services.
The services required by coaches at each clinic are:
- Plan a clinic program
- present information to groups of athletes
- coordinate large (15 – 20) and small groups (5-6) of athletes
- work cooperatively with other coaches to design the overall plan and daily plan
- supervise athletes during the clinic and any breaks
- Engender a team spirit among athletes, recognising that they will be representing the state
- provide constructive feedback to athletes
- prepare brief notes for each athlete’s coach
Key attributes required:
- excellent communication skills
- affiliated as a coach with Fencing Victoria
- extensive coaching experience
- reliability
- ability to attend all days of clinic
- ability to work with groups
- ability to communicate effectively with coaches/fencers/parents
