Anyone who has been to the State Fencing Centre over the last couple of weeks would have noticed that there is a lot happening.
Last weekend, in addition to normal training and State Squad activities, Novices and B-Grade fencers competed. These competitons were held at the same time as the final (assessment) session for the State referees course.
This weekend saw normal State Squad activities again, along with the monthly informal foil competition. Both the epee Squad and the foil competition were integrated into the camp and other preparations for the Under-15s and Cadets travelling to Perth next weekend to represent Victoria at the National competition.
This weekend we also held the final (assessment) session for the State coaching course.
Good luck and good fencing to all of the children travelling to Perth in the days ahead, and thanks to Neil Hick who sandwiched the course assessments between his Olympic responsibilities in both China and Korea.
