Nominate a remarkable woman for the 2011 Victorian Honour Roll of
Women now!
Women's Affairs Minister Maxine Morand called on Victorians to
nominate the women who inspire them for the 2011 Victorian Honour Roll of Women.
Opening the call for nominations at the 60th anniversary celebrations of the
Victorian Union of Australian Women, Ms Morand said the Honour Roll celebrated
the important contribution women made to Victoria.
"The Honour Roll is a great opportunity for all Victorians to
recognise the achievements of women from all sections of the community," Ms
Morand said. "If you know a woman who has made a difference in your community,
this is your chance to make sure she is recognised."
The Victorian Honour Roll of Women recognises and celebrates the
achievements of women who have made a significant contribution in a particular
field or made a lasting contribution that benefits the lives of other women and
the wider community. Australian Fencing's Helen Smith was inducted onto the Roll
earlier this year.
Nominations close on 13 October at 5.00pm
Successful nominees will be announced as part of International Women’s Day in
March 2011.
