Saturday afternoon saw the second "all-comers" foil competition (in the Coeur de Lion format - a seeding round of pools, followed by Gold, Silver, Bronze pools). Two dozen fencers competed for the most sought-after boxes of prize chocolates in Melbourne. The competition was also sponsored by Dr Alex Kaufman, who contributed prize vouchers for each of the winners.
The competition included some top foil fencers from both Australia and overseas in the Gold pool, as well as some beginners and younger fencers in the Bronze pool. Many clubs were represented, and the quality of competition was intense at each level.
In the end, the Gold pool was won by Harry Huang, the Silver by Stephen Lai, and the Bronze by Jack Duffy. Full results of the final pools are in the PDF file below.
The next unofficial foil competition is scheduled for 3 April - 1pm warm-up, 1:30pm start. (More details here)
