The MWJFL is the governing body for junior football in the western suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia.
There are 9 Member Clubs/Delegate Clubs that fall under the MWJFL span of control and these include:
- Henley
- North Haven
- Port District
- Portland
- Rosewater
- Seaton Ramblers
- SMOSH West Lakes
- West Croydon
- Woodville South
The MWJFL and its Delegate Clubs fall within three (3) local councils, being the Charles Sturt Council, Port Adelaide Enfield Council and West Torrens Council. These councils are the owners of the grounds upon which the Delegate Clubs conduct Australian Rules Football and are responsible for the maintenance of these facilities.
The MWJFL has an Executive Committee comprising of up to 10 members who are elected by the representatives of the 11 member clubs. Voting and appointments are conducted in accordance to the MWJFL constitution.
The elected Executive Committee takes responsibility for the:
- Strategic Direction of the League
- Corporate Governance
- Compliance of the League’s and associated sporting body’s rules and policies
- Legislation including Risk Management
- Financial Governance and management of the League and its Delegate Clubs
The MWJFL maintains a strong relationship with the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) who is the governing body of Australian Rules Football within South Australia and other junior leagues, including Metro South, North East, Hills and Southern Junior Football Leagues.
