WHAT do you get if you put two of the most dominant Woollacott Medal winners in recent years on the same team? Answer: a State League championship - that’s what Sturt is hoping.
The Sabres have added Jacob Holmes and Darren Ng to their list which took the club to fifth last season.
Holmes, the 2004 Woollacott Medal winner who took Eastern to the state title when he last played State League, and Ng, the 2007 winner of the league’s top individual award, provide a nightmare for opposition teams.
If the Sabres don’t win the men’s title this year, it will almost certainly be because one or both of those players don’t end up playing finals.
With Marcus Ng also due to return from a knee injury mid-season, Sturt looks super-strong.
