Central Districts held its nerve in a tense final quarter to come away from Mt Barker with a crucial 110-105 win against the Eastern Mavericks on Sunday.

The Lions trailed by five going into the last quarter, before some clutch shooting and cool heads at the foul line brought them home.

Andrew Puddifoot had 29 points and 10 rebounds, and Matt Clarke had 21  including three three-pointers in the final quarter  to lead the way to victory.

Trailing by four with two and a half minutes left, Districts' great escape was at the hands of two three-pointers by Clarke, a three-point play by Jacob Templeton, and perfect foul shooting  the Lions going 10/10 in the last quarter and 7/7 in the last two minutes.
