Flames Cook Eagles

Norwood has claimed the prized scalp of red-hot Forestville Eagles with a resounding 122-95 win on Saturday night, and claiming sole ownership of top spot in the process.
Flames forward Keith Krause was outstanding offensively, with a game high 32 points in only 22 minutes. He was ably assisted by Andrew Webber’s 19 points, Todd Matthews (16), David Cooper (11 points, 13 rebounds) and an exciting season debut from Scott Lampshire with 12 points in 11 minutes. Forestville’s 36ER-in-waiting Peter Hoban was a monster inside, with 21 points and 20 rebounds (11 offensive), While Brad Gerlach and Matt Sutton chipped in with 18 points each. Fresh off a 46-point outburst the previous match, Eagle forward Kane Oakley was unable to find much space and finished with 11 points and three rebounds.
The game was won in the first quarter, when, with the scores 13-11 after six minutes, Norwood went on a scoring blitz, amassing 28 points to Forestville’s 13 to lead 41-24 at the first break.
Andrew Webber was on fire from outside, nailing four-3-pointers in the quarter, while Matthews, Krause, Lampshire and Daniel Webber all found their range.
The teams played each other to a stand-off for the remainder of the game. Gerlach, Sutton and Brad Sullivan each providing brief glimpses for the visitors, but it was the depth of the Flames that wore the Eagles down. Norwood’s bench providing an amazing 64 points to 14
