2008 Central ABL Fixture Released

South Australia's elite basketball competition will again showcase the best South Australian talent outside the NBL, as well as some notable inclusions from interstate and overseas, to be announced in the coming weeks.

The reinsertion of the Central Districts women's team sees a return to consistent men's and women's double headers in the 2008 Central ABL, the schedule for which was released today. The season will again run for 18 rounds, with breaks for the Adelaide Cup, Easter and Queen's Birthday long weekends, and the SA Junior Championships.

The 2008 campaign starts for all teams on Saturday March 15 and the local Grand Finals will be at the Distinctive Homes Dome on Saturday August 16. Of the 90 minor round games, 19 will be played on Sundays, providing extra opportunities for junior players and families to get to games, and increasing opportunities for spectators to see multiple games in a weekend.

The winners of the men's and women's league, and the men's runner-up, will participate in the Australian Club Championships in August. A men's quarter final game will be hosted in Adelaide on August 23/24, and the national finals will be held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre on August 30/31.
