Rnd 21: Flames cruise to victory over Panthers

Norwood Flames 93 | South Adelaide Panthers 65
The Norwood Flames closed their regular season with a 28 point demolition of the South Adelaide Panthers, 93-65 at Mars on Saturday night.
A blistering first half had put the game out of reach for the visitors as they were fighting an uphill battle right from the opening tip. A 7-0 run to start the game from the Flames put the Panthers on the back foot and struggling to catch up.
Some slick passing on the fast break had helped the home side gain a 10 point lead after one quarter and carry that momentum into the second. The Flames not letting up, winning the quarter 29-17 and enjoying a 22 point lead heading into half time.
The Panthers were able to match the Flames after half time but it wasn't enough. Failure to get stops wasn't helping them close the gap and Norwood were far too accurate from the field to let their opponents back in the game.
Norwood was led by Jacob Holmes' double-double, 22 points and 15 rebounds. Matt Lycett added 19 points and 8 rebounds. Daniel Webber and Ian O'Boyle both scored 11 in the win.
South were led by Adrien Coleman who had 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Ryan Gardner finished with 17 points and 6 rebounds.
The Panthers end their year with a 5-16 record in eighth place.
The Flames finish second on the ladder with a 16-5 record and will face Sturt in the Qualifying final.
