Dusty the League's Best

Dusty Rychart has been awarded the 2007 Woollacott medal, as the best and fairest player in the Central ABL.

It took a 35 point 27 rebound effort in North's last minor round game to edge out Norwood's Todd Matthews, who also had 35 points in the same game.

Going into the final round, Rychart led Matthews by 1 vote, and in the final game, Dusty polled 3 votes to Todd's 2. Had the voting been reversed, the medal would have involved the first tie since Scott Ninnis and Greg Olbrich tied in 1995.

Fittingly, Rychart and Matthews shared the league MVP award, voted on by coaches, captains and clubs.

19 year old Jordan Dodman won the Frank Angove medal for the best player under 21 years.
