South Adelaide earned its spot in the finals with a gritty win against Southern on June 30 and an upset over league-leaders Sturt two weeks ago. The Panthers enter Saturday's elimination final against North on a four game winning streak which started with an 11 point win over the Rockets on June 23.

South coach Glenn Shaw, in his second year at the club after a season with the Lions, has been instrumental in his team's improvement this season. There's no doubt  that the addition of Kerrin Truslove and Sarah Peddle has helped, but South now play a tougher brand of basketball, and will be have no fear against the Rockets.

Olympian Jo Hill has provided North with her annual mid-season boost in recent years, and they would need it more than ever in this game. Excluding last week's 5 point escape in a dead rubber against Norwood, after earlier leading by 20, North haven't won for over a month, and need to find form quickly to avoid elimination.

Having said that, the Rockets are 6 and 2 at Hillcrest, while South are 3 and 5 away from home. 17 year old point guard Lauren Mansfield, who advances the ball with the swagger of a savvy veteran, has taken on added responsibilities in the absence of Erin Lorenzini, and hit three threes in recent games against Sturt and South. 18 year old Jamie-Lee Peris has had double figure rebounds in the last four games, and scored 20 the last time these teams met.

If Mike McKay can incite a start similar to last week's, North will advance. If that's the case, it will be the final games for retiring Jenni Carberry and Vikki Kelson. They'll be doing their best to ensure there's at least one more.
