Double Round Shaping Finals

The outcome of this weekend's double round will have a big impact on the Central ABL finals placings.

With four rounds left after this weekend, Norwood men have the potential to cement first place and gain a week off in the first round of the finals. This outcome will be largely dependent on the game-of-the-round between Forestville and North at Wayville on Saturday night, for which one would expect to see the largest Central ABL crowd of the year, and also on Forestville's ability to back up the next day against Sturt.

In the women's competition, Sturt are already three games clear of the pack, and potential victories over Forestville and Eastern would send them towards a minor premiership. Anything's possible in the finals, however, and given the rosters of West Adelaide and North Adelaide, either of those teams could be laying in wait.

The finals battle is more interesting in the middle of the ladder. In the men's competition, 6th placed Woodville would need to at least split games against South and North to stay in touch, while in the women's competition, Forestville and South are within two games of the top 5.
