Panthers Get Up at Hillcrest

North Adelaide Rockets (72) lost to South Adelaide Panthers (77)

The South Adelaide Panthers and the North Adelaide Rockets played for bragging rights at Hillcrest this weekend with both teams officially out of the finals and South claimed the victory.

South Adelaide were comfortably in front for most of the game and could have been forgiven for taking it easy as they headed in to the last quarter 15 points up. North Adelaide however came off the blocks with guns a blaze and stormed the Panthers defense. Daniel Goodluck got the ball rolling with an early triple and Luke Mapunda chimed in with a quick two points and they were off tag teaming the basket until they were just 1 point down with 3 and a half minutes left to play.

The Panther's shooting had all but dried up but they rallied when they needed to. Shane Boal dropped a handy three to keep them in front but then South missed 5 attempts in a row before Thomas McKenzie managed to sink 6 free throws in the last minute of play to seal the win for South Adelaide.

Daniel Goodluck led the game for North with 20 points while Thomas McKenzie led the Panthers with 19. Fellow Panther Jordan Robertson had a double double with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
