Shierlaw Scores Career High
South Adelaide Panthers (91) defeated West Adelaide Bearcats (84)
They say games are won and lost in the third quarter and the Panthers have proven the rule this weekend when they took down the Bearcats at home this weekend.
Although South had built a 6 point lead by half time, some costly ball fumbles from the Bearcats opened up the chance for South to consolidate and the trio of Nagy, Howard and Mahony made short work of their opposition. The Panthers piled on the points and stretched their lead to 17 at the final break. While the Bearcats finished strong and turned the tables in the last period it wasn't enough to get over the line and the Panthers finished 7 in front.
South dominated the boards with 45 rebounds compared to the Bearcats 27. Anna Carbo scored a double-double for the Bearcats with 12 rebounds 32 points and team mate Kate Shierlaw led the game with a career high 32 points.
