South Adelaide Panthers (65) lost to Norwood Flames (69)
Norwood and South Adelaide duked it out on the weekend and the Flames managed a slim 4 point victory from a tight contest. The win has allowed Norwood to swap spots with South, pushing the Panthers down to 7th on the ladder while stepping in to 5th.
The Flames set the pace for most of the first quarter, however the Panthers matched their every step answering each basket or rebound with one of their own, eventually taking the lead just before the first break. The second quarter was pivotal for both sides as they traded the lead, the Flames played a powerfull five minutes heading into the main break 5 points in front. The Flames built on their momentum in the third stretching their lead to 12 points at the start of the final period.
The Panthers led by Shane Boal played a courageous final quarter outscoring the Flames 20 to 12 but the Flames staunchly defended their advantage and hung on until the final buzzer.
Jordan Robertson led his team with a double double (18 points and 10 rebounds). Backing him up were team mates Shane Boal with 16 points and 6 rebounds and Ryan Gardner with 14 points and 6 rebounds.
The Flames' Matthew Lycett had a double double with, 18 points an 17 rebounds while team-mate Andrew Webber matched his effort with 18 points also.
