What is the most challenging thing about being a CABL Coach?

Time constraints on the program, 2 practices not enough

What is the best thing about being a CABL coach?

Seeing players improve/succeed and the friendships and relationships it brings your way.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

Clearly explain your expectations to each player and their role in the group from the beginning.

Name 3 things a young player can do to get better in their game?

Ask plenty of questions, study x’s and o’s, work daily on fundamentals

What do you love about your club? Why is it special?

They give me the trust and freedom to run the program while still being sure they are across all aspects, it is a very family friendly environment, our group has plenty of junior player and family support, it has a country community feel about it.

The males side of the program has some very exciting players on the way, from under 14s all the way to 23s

How do you handle Big Game pressure?

Pray, prepare, practice and proceed.  Once that is done things are pretty good, my assistant coaches also keep me very grounded and offer great personal and tactical advice during those times.

What is the one thing you look for in an athlete? The Must have Quality?

Effort, energy, fight, want.

Who inspires you as a coach/athlete? Who is your hero? And Why?

My wife and family, their support is never taken for granted, the time and effort that gets put into a season needs family support, lost without them, Hero is my Mum and Dad, they are easily the reason I am the person I am today.
