Eastern Mavericks (74) lost to Sturt Sabres (89)
The Sturt Sabres achieved what they set out to do when they visited the Eastern Maverick's this weekend despite missing their head coach Brett Maher who was unable to attend the match due to his Adelaide 36'ers broadcast commitments.
The Sabres made an early break for it in the first quarter going into their first time out 13 points in front but it was the second quarter that destroyed the Mavs chances with Sturt scoring 26 points whilst limiting Eastern to only 8 for the period.
The Sabre's welcomed Tim Klaosen back to the CABL fresh from his time with the Adelaide Crows. Klaosen mad a strong start to his season leading his team stats in points (17), Rebounds (8) and Steals (3).
Dylan Shorne made a double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Mavericks while their star shooter Curtis Scipio delivered 18 points of his own.
