Pre-Season Tournament
15 senior men’s and women’s teams will compete at this year Central Australian Basketball League Pre-season tournament, providing local basketball fans with an early glimpse of what to expect in the coming season.
This year’s tournament is being held at the Wayville Sports Centre on March 1 and 2. The tournament, run annually by Basketball SA, is a precursor to the Central Australian Basketball League season which starts two weeks later on March 15.
This year the tournament welcomes the Mildura Lady Heat, who are using the tournament to help prepare for their BigV season, which also starts on March 15.
The women’s tournament includes 8 teams (Central Districts, Eastern, Mildura, North Adelaide, Norwood, Southern, West Adelaide and Woodville) while 7 teams will compete in the men’s tournament (Eastern, North Adelaide, Norwood, Southern, Sturt, West Adelaide and Woodville).
Games consist of four 8 minute quarters played under FIBA timing conditions. Entry is free and all spectators are welcome.
