West Men Victorious in Pre-Season Tournament

West Adelaide's men have won the Central ABL Pre-Season Tournament, with a 62-53 victory over Southern in the Grand Final.

The Bearcats started their campaign slowly, with a 66-53 loss to the Tigers, before solid wins over Eastern and Sturt set them up for a rematch against Southern.

Southern, coached by former Forestville premiership-winner Rashad Tucker, went undefeated in the minor rounds,  beating Eastern and Norwood, and were more than competitive with West in the Grand Final before succumbing in the final stages.

An early loss to Norwood cost Woodville a spot in the grand final, the Warriors missing out to West on percentage. Their Saturday game against Sturt became somewhat of a reunion, when Woodville junior and former Sabre Darren Ng made his first appearance for the Warriors for many years, as did Nathan Baggott, who last played in the CABL in 2007.
