Sturt Women take out Pre-Season Tournament
Sturt's women were victorious in the Central ABL Pre-Season Tournament, going undefeated across the weekend.
The Sabres had victories over Southern and Norwood on Saturday, Eastern on Sunday morning, then Woodville in a game late Sunday which determined the winner of the tournament.
Sabres coach Marcus Wong commented that the tournament was a great opportunity for Lightning team members Hannah Bowley and Molly Lewis to play, having missed most of Sturt's pre-season due to WNBL commitments.
Woodville provided perhaps the most surprising performance of the weekend, with wins over Eastern, Southern and 2012 premiers Norwood putting them into an effective grand final against Sturt.
