Forestville win a Rare Double

The Forestville Eagles achieved a rare double tonight, winning the Central ABL men's and women's premierships.

In the women's game, Forestville set up their win with a 19-11 first quarter, eventually holding on for a 70-58 victory.

Carla Borrego was the star for the Eagles, scoring 27 points and grabbing an incredible 21 rebounds in a game MVP performance. Kelsey Ireland was the best for the Flames with 12 points and 5 boards.

The men's game was neck and neck until 3/4 time, when Forestville went from 3 point deficit to a 7 point lead in 4 minutes, eventually winning 82-68.

Forestville's Rashad Tucker was a clear game MVP, taking apart a number of Norwood defenders and finishing with the stat line of 30 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists, though it was Majok Deng who changed the game for Forestville when inserted into the lineup with 1:34 remaining in the third quarter. Norwood's best was Todd Matthews who had 17 points and 6 rebounds.
