Sturt's women defeat North to split weekend's games
Despite a spirited comeback by the Rockets in the third quarter, Sturt proved too big for Tania Dhu’s team.
Whilst it was the second game for both teams on the weekend, neither side showed tiredness. The Sturt girls were simply taller than the Rockets.
Nicole Seekamp and Monique Bowley played well and kept Sturt in front for the whole game. Neither “lit up” but both were quietly consistent through the game.
The birthday girl, Jo Hill had an amazing game and played the full 40 minutes with an outstanding game high 20 points and 20 rebounds. Monique Bowley also had a “double double” with 16 points and 15 rebounds.
It was an entertaining game, with some positives for the North girls against a good opposition coached by Chris Lucas.
There are not many sports where you can see Olympians, top league, and up and coming players on one court at once, for $6.
