Major Signing for Eastern Women

The Eastern Mavericks women have been bolstered by the signing of Tracey Beatty.

A WNBL player with the Canberra Capitals, 202 cm Tracey Beatty has been cleared and registered to play with the Mavericks. Beatty has played in the Women’s National League since 1995 and was an Opals Squad member from 1997 – 2003. Before joining Canberra she played with the Adelaide Lightning where she won a premiership with the Team in 2006/2007. She has since gone on to win three premierships with Canberra in 2005/2006, 2006/2007 and 2008/2009. Whether she is available for this week’s game has not yet been confirmed.

This week the Mavericks are away to the Sturt Sabres at Pasadena on Saturday night. Sturt suffered a double loss with both the Men and Women losing to the Norwood Flames in close encounters in the opening round of matches. The Women play at 6.30pm followed by the Men at 8.15pm.
