Media Coordinator Appointment
Basketball SA is pleased to announce the appointment of David Tonks to the newly created position of Central ABL Media Coordinator.
David has been involved in the sport of basketball for over 40 years as a player, parent and administrator. For the 12 years that the Central ABL has been in existence, David has written previews and reviews of games that have been published in "The Courier", the Adelaide Hills local newspaper. Prior to this, David wrote similar articles for games in the SA Country Invitation Basketball League, and also ran a weekly radio segment reviewing games in this competition.
He is very familiar with the Central ABL through other roles such as team manager, court announcer, statistician and score table official for the Eastern Mavericks. In addition, David served for a number of years on the league's senior committee.
David's role will be to coordinate the promotion of the Central ABL to the public, by liaising with newspapers, radio stations and clubs.
Basketball SA is excited about this new position and we look forward to seeing more Central ABL news items in the coming months.
