Judo Training/coaching sessions will be held over the games week.
Pascal Giraud will be the Coach for the sessions. Pascal is a French judoka who arrived in Australia less than two years ago. He has played for 26 years at State, National and International levels in France with a couple of results at the French National championships.
Coaches and Athletes are encouraged to attend all sessions, Times and days of the sessions will be finalised early next year.
Pascal's teaching style combines physical preparation, advanced technical and tactical competition skills and pedagogical processes with efficiency
Pascal has had much practical coaching experience both in France & Australia
National coaching experience:
Pascal was the Head Coach during 7 years at the University of Paris XII. He coached the National & International students from INSEP (Educational and Sporting link between INSEP and the University of Paris XII - INSEP is the equivalent of the AIS in Canberra)
During the 7 years he coached at the University of Paris XII, his players obtained lots of results at the National University championships. The National French University Federation promoted Pascal Giraud to a national coach (member in the national commission) but unfortunately he could not take up this position as he moved to Australia that same year.
Pascal was one of the coaches during the JFA National Elite Camp in August 2006

Coach in top state club (Seine et Marne, France) with national athletes for 7 years.

Educational background
Former PDHPE teacher in France and Lecturer in Sports and Sciences at the University of Paris XII - Research subject: teaching/learning and physical preparation in judo.
