The Sherbrooke Suns are proud to announce the appointment of Rick Vos as Head Coach of our Youth Championship Men’s program for the 2019 BIG V season.

Vos arrives at Sherbrooke with coaching experience in the Youth League Men’s system at Chelsea in 2013 and Western Port in 2014 before more recently being involved with the Nunawading Youth Championship Men.

Following a top four finish in 2018 where the Suns Youth Championship Men were narrowly defeated by Eltham in the Preliminary Final, the team will transition into a new phase with several players ageing out of Youth League and a strong emphasis now moving into elevating more of Sherbrooke’s home grown talent.

Speaking on the appeal of his new home Vos said, “Sherbrooke provide a platform to develop some diamonds in the rough and watch them grow beyond their own expectations. Going forward the club genuinely want to create a program that has a strong number of local kids progress from VJBL which is a great challenge.”

Looking forward with returning Suns Senior Men’s Coach Ryan Rogers, Vos is united in a collaborative approach with the primary focus to build greater depth in the Sherbrooke senior program, “I would like to establish a solid foundation that allows all members and Sherbrooke juniors a clear pathway through to the Men’s Senior team by providing a strong focus on technical skill training with greater opportunities.”

Vos’ focus now turns to the upcoming Suns Big V Open Scrimmages commencing Tuesday 18th September at Belgrave Heights Christian School.
