Although on the rookie list and only newly drafted to the club, Adam's work rate has been a highlight during the pre-season where he has been able to complete the full program. This is not often achieved by the rookies as they adjust to the demands of AFL football
Adam was elated to be named in the side at their Wednesday's team meeting and is looking forward to his parents being at the ground to watch his debut "I've worked really hard to put myself in the best position that I can to be available if there was an opportunity. It's a bit of a surprise given the quality of players in the squad and I'm looking forward to Saturday night". The fact that Adam is being looked at for a 'run with' role is a huge testament to the work he's done on his fitness
Adam has enjoyed being tutored by Michael Voss. " He's a great communicator and because he is only fresh out of the game, he brings a new outlook to the club and the players. The squad is really positive about the year ahead"
"It has been great to hear words of support and congratulations from family and friends. It's good to know that there is that support at home".
Rob Searle, the newly appointed AFL Development Manager in the Wide Bay area, says the football community is excited and looking forward to Saturday night. "It's just great for the juniors in the area to be able to see what could happen if they are willing to put the hard work in. I have seen a lot of talented players miss out on these opportunities and regret them later. It's awesome that Adam has backed himself and trusted in his ability to make it at the highest level"
"It is also a great pat on the back for the coaches and helpers that have spent the time volunteering to help juniors. When something like this happens, I hope they feel a sense of pride in their contribution to it happening.
"With the U18s Wide Bay Combined side playing in Bundaberg on Sunday, I suspect all the boys will be watching Adam on Saturday night and hoping that they can follow in his footsteps"
